Uniting the band and student sections and bringing them closer to the field amplifies the game day atmosphere and maximizes home-field advantage.

Strong connectivity, mobile ticketing and enhanced in-game experiences will make it easier for fans to stay connected throughout game day.

Moving through the stadium should be easy and efficient with clear signage, ample vertical transportation capacity, and no bottlenecks.

And greater comfort should extend throughout Memorial Stadium, with improved seating and amenities for fans across the stadium.

The "Big Red Rebuild" campaign aims to modernize our historic stadium, a source of pride and competitive advantage, ensuring it remains a state-of-the-art facility for future generations. Join us in this vital transformation. Your support will help shape the future of the stadium across five key areas:

Upgraded Amenities

Expanded restrooms and concessions will improve overall comfort and reduce time away from the action. More food and beverage offerings will give fans the power of choice and elevate the game-day experience.

  • Approximately 20,000 chairback seats and bleacher backs will be installed throughout the west and south stadium
  • Expanded and modernized restroom facilities increase the number of fixtures per fan by 75%
  • New Concession concepts aimed at speed of service and include: Grab and Go, Marketplaces, Specialty food and social gathering spaces with doubling points of sales
  • A new kitchen and distribution network will allow for new food options and ensure concession stands stay stocked with your favorite items throughout the game
  • New club spaces and gathering spaces will be added to create different experiences for fans to choose from and enjoy with friends and family

Fan Flow

Redesigned entry points, wider concourses, and improved wayfinding will ease congestion and navigation. Faster, more efficient entry and exit will reduce wait times and get fans to their seats faster.

  • Concourse width increases from 17-20 ft wide to 30-75 ft wide and will open up the concourse, allowing the field to be visible from the concourse
  • The main concourse will now allow fans to circulate 360 degrees around Memorial Stadium
  • A new upper concourse will allow fans to circulate 270 degrees from the northwest corner, around the south to the northeast corner of Memorial Stadium
  • A new southwest Gate will accommodate 40% of the total stadium capacity into the stadium in 90 mins

Higher Energy

A reimagined student section is on the way—designed to bring our students closer to the heart-pounding action and turn the south end zone into a true fortress of sound. With new safe-standing areas, we're creating an electrifying yet secure environment that empowers our students to fuel the fiercest home-field advantage in all of college football. Together, we'll make the stadium roar like never before.

  • Moving The Boneyard closer to the field and across two levels of the south end zone enables our students to impact the game
  • The new height of the south end zone fully amplifies the crowd noise, making Memorial Stadium one of the loudest venues in college football

Improved Access

We are committed to keeping Memorial Stadium affordable to all fans by offering sections that do not require a priority seating contribution. Additionally, expanded ADA accessibility will ensure everyone can enjoy game-day to the fullest with greater ease and comfort.

  • General public season tickets will start at $299 for 2028, with an estimated 5,000 seats available at that price
  • Approximately 25% of seats available to the public in Memorial Stadium will not require a priority seating contribution in 2028
  • ADA accessible seats will increase by 18%

Immersive Digital Experience

Improved WiFi and connectivity will increase engagement throughout the game, from live stats to social sharing. Tech-forward features like new video boards will bring fans closer to the action.

Memorial Stadium's transformation will create a more connected, comfortable, and energetic game-day experience for all fans. The project also prioritizes affordability and accessibility, with continued access to non-priority seating options and expanded ADA accommodations. Together with a reimagined student section, these improvements will strengthen Memorial Stadium's atmosphere, creating one of the most exciting and fan-friendly environments in college football.

The project will be funded by leveraging a strategic mix of at least $250 million in philanthropic support from Huskers Athletic Fund members and $350 million in private bond financing. Yes, season ticket holders will be prioritized during selection of season ticket locations.

A phased reseat will take place starting in the spring of 2027. Season ticket holders will be automatically enrolled, while non-season ticket holders will have the opportunity to join a waitlist prior to the reseat. For more information on premium seating please visit the Premium Experiences page.
